Total Glass

Every so often, immediately after a dying northwest wind, an amazing thing happens on the Pamlico Sound: total calm. The water begins to resemble glass and the boundary between water and sky completely disappears. I couldn’t grab my camera fast enough when I noticed just such an occasion this morning.
